Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
In short: ZoomLock does not collect, send, or sell any data. Everything it saves stays in your own browser.
ZoomLock is a Chrome extension that lets you select an area of a YouTube video or live stream and keep it zoomed in. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.
Information we collect
ZoomLock does not collect, store on any server, share, or sell any personal information or browsing data.
Information stored on your device
To work properly, ZoomLock saves a small amount of data locally in your browser using Chrome's built in storage:
- Your settings, such as whether the player controls and mini map are shown.
- The zoom area you chose for a video, linked to that video's ID, so the same zoom can be restored when you open the video again. Only the most recent 100 videos are kept.
This data never leaves your device through ZoomLock. If you use Chrome Sync, Chrome may sync your ZoomLock settings between your own browsers, which is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.
Permissions
- Storage: used only to keep the settings and zoom areas described above.
- Access to www.youtube.com: used only to add the zoom controls to the video player and apply the zoom. ZoomLock does not read your watch history, account details, comments, or any other page content.
Third parties
ZoomLock does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or any third party services, and it does not load code from external servers.
Removing your data
You can remove all ZoomLock data at any time by uninstalling the extension. Clicking "Full view" on a video also deletes the saved zoom for that video.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
